Leaders Lausanne win the top-of-the-table clash in Bern 3:2 after overtime. Antti Suomela decides the game with two goals.
These were Suomela's 13th and 14th goals of the season, and the 30-year-old Finn ended overtime 39 seconds before the end. It was the third time Suomela had won an overtime game in the National League. With 14 goals, Suomela has already surpassed his tally from last season, his first in Lausanne.
Lausanne deserved their tenth win in the last twelve rounds. They are six points ahead of EV Zug in the standings. The ZSC Lions are seven points behind, but have played four games less.
SC Bern, on the other hand, can no longer keep pace at the top. The Bernese have lost their last three and four of their last five home games against Lausanne, Zug (1:5) and Ambri-Piotta (2:4). The two teams will meet again on Friday, but then in Vaud. Tristan Scherwey will be able to play for SCB again because he has served his two-game suspension for his massive insult and threat to the referee.
