The European Championship qualifying match between Switzerland and Germany on May 7 or 8 will be played in Zurich's Hallenstadion.
The clash between the two neighbors will be the penultimate match of the qualifying campaign. The exact date and kick-off time will be determined in the next few days.
The Swiss handball team's European Championship qualifying campaign continues in March with a home and away match against Turkey. In the first two games, the SHV team lost 26:35 in Germany and drew 29:29 against Austria. The top two teams in each group (8 in total) plus the four best third-placed teams will qualify for the 2026 European Championship finals in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
For now, however, the focus is fully on the World Cup in Denmark. Coach Andy Schmid's team will face the still unbeaten tournament hosts in the second game of the main round on Thursday (20:30).
