After three years, Markus Pfisterer has decided to step down as Head of the Ethics Reporting Office for Swiss Sport. This was announced by the Swiss Sport Integrity (SSI) Foundation.
Pfisterer took on the challenge of setting up the reporting office in October 2021. Due to the high and ever-increasing number of reports received - over 1000 reports have been received and processed to date - the 53-year-old from Aargau was instrumental in securing the necessary financial resources, as SSI writes. In discussions with the partner organizations, he has succeeded in demonstrating the urgency and necessity of additional support, always in the interests of Swiss sport.
Pfisterer himself says about his decision: "Due to my part-time workload, I came to the conclusion that it makes sense to hand over the management to someone with more time resources and to focus fully on my independence." The former director of Swiss Cycling will continue to work with SSI on a mandate basis. According to the foundation, the search for a successor is not yet complete.
