A 6-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident with a car in a collective garage in Stallikon ZH on Friday evening. For reasons still unknown on Saturday, a car driving into the garage collided with the child, according to the Zurich cantonal police.

The 49-year-old driver drove into the private collective garage at around 5.30 p.m. to park. This resulted in a collision with the girl, who had been in the garage. After first aid, the child was flown to hospital by rescue helicopter, as the police reported on Saturday.

Specialists from the Forensic Institute were called in to secure evidence. The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Zurich cantonal police and the public prosecutor's office.
