Goalkeeper Mathieu Seravalli from coach Andy Schmid's squad played for BSV Bern so that all three Swiss World Cup keepers could gain match practice. Lucas Meister made his comeback in the 44th minute just in time for the title fights after suffering a knee injury in November. All 18 players were used, the top scorers with five goals were Lenny Rubin, Felix Aellen and Lukas Laube.

"It was important that we were able to keep up the game rhythm between the Yellow Cup and our first World Cup appearance and not just play internal training games," said Schmid, citing one reason for the match. "If we stick to our own concept, we can hold our own against all opponents." The first serious match will be against the Czech Republic next Wednesday.
