The German bobsleigh pusher Simon Wulff will definitely not be competing in St. Moritz this weekend.
He will not compete, although neither the World Anti-Doping Agency nor the Bobsleigh World Federation have issued a ban.
The International Testing Agency (ITA) announced on Friday which substance was found in a sample taken from Wulff in December. It was methylhexanamine. It is contained in so-called slimming products, dietary supplements and also in some teas. This substance is permitted in training but prohibited in competition.
In accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the anti-doping rules of the IBSF, no provisional ban was imposed on the athlete, who is still allowed to take part in competitions while the proceedings are ongoing. The German federation BSD nevertheless released the pusher of Olympic champion Francesco Friedrich as a precautionary measure in order to rule out possible sanctions against the team in retrospect. Friedrich will therefore compete in the two-man bobsleigh World Cup in St. Moritz this weekend with Alexander Schüller.
