Genève-Servette Hockey Club averts the "worst-case scenario". The Servettiens beat Biel 6:4 after trailing thanks to a magnificent 243 seconds.

EHC Biel led 2:1 after 20 minutes in the rematch of the 2023 playoff final. Servette managed to break the deadlock with four goals in four minutes from 1:2 to 5:2. It's hard to imagine what it would have looked like if the debut of Yorick Treille and Rikard Franzén, the previous assistants of Jan Cadieux (44), who was sacked at Christmas, had gone down the drain. After all, Cadieux had only lost four of his last ten games - and in the Champions League he reached the semi-finals again with Servette.

Lausanne took the lead in the standings with a 6:1 home win over Kloten. The ZSC Lions can regain the lead on Friday in the first game under new head coach Marco Bayer. Zurich SC will play host to Spengler Cup winners Gottéron in Fribourg.

In addition, the cantonal competition between Bern and Ticino ended in a 3-3 draw. The results, on the other hand, were surprising: The SCL Tigers won 2:1 away at Ambri-Piotta, while the Schlittschuhclub Bern lost their home game against Lugano 1:4.

At Hirzel, the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers defeated EV Zug 5-3 after trailing twice.
