Germany's men secure the title at the European Curling Championships in Lohja, Finland. The team led by skip Marc Muskatewitz defeated the favored Scotland 9:7 in the final.
It was the first gold medal for the German men since 2004 and their first podium finish since 2008. "It's a bit surreal to be standing here as winners," said Muskatewitz. "We had nothing to lose today against the best team in the world." The Scots with skip Bruce Mouat missed out on becoming European champions for the fourth time in a row.
