The CHI Basel from January 9 to 12, 2025 has never had such a high-calibre line-up. The top riders do not want to miss out on the main rehearsal for the World Cup Final in April in the St. Jakobshalle.

After the closing date for entries, it is clear that seven of the top ten aces in the world rankings will be competing in the World Cup show jumping event. Leading the field is world number one Henrik von Eckermann from Sweden, world champion and winner of the last two World Cup finals. Steve Guerdat, the Olympic silver medallist in Paris and European champion in Milan 2023, will lead the 19-strong delegation of Swiss riders together with Martin Fuchs.

The 10th of 14 qualifying tests for the World Cup Final will take place in Basel on Sunday, January 12. Guerdat should already have collected enough points, but Fuchs is under pressure. The winner of the top ten final in Geneva should therefore saddle up a top horse in Basel. The World Cup jumping competition on Sunday is endowed with 330,000 francs. It has been on the program since 2019 and has seen three prominent winners so far with Fuchs (2019), Guerdat (2020) and Von Eckermann (2023). And Pieter Devos will also be the winner in 2024.
