  • Rainer Maria Salzgeber will no longer be presenting the national team matches at this European Championship.
  • Salzgeber returned to Switzerland on Tuesday because of the "Donnschtig-Jass". His replacement on site is Paddy Kälin.
  • Annette Fetscherin is back in front of the camera after her riding accident.

When SRF goes on air on Saturday at 5.10 p.m. to get the national team fans in the mood for the European Championship quarter-final between Switzerland and England, Rainer Maria Salzgeber will not be welcoming the TV viewers as usual. The national team presenter returned to Switzerland from Germany on Tuesday. The reason: the "Donnschtig-Jass".

The 41st summer tour of the popular Jass show starts on Thursday in Seengen, Aargau. For five years, Rainer has not only been Salzgeber, but also the host of "Donnschtig-Jass" - the show is a matter close to his heart for the Valais native, who even leaves early from the national team, which he has been following closely as a presenter for ten years now.

"I feel the responsibility I have to be able to present such a wonderful format," Salzgeber recently said in a "Blick" interview about "Donnschtig-Jass". Even before the European Championships, it was clear that the 54-year-old would only cover the Swiss matches up to and including the round of 16 and would present "Donnschtig-Jass" from the start.

Paddy Kälin will take over the on-site moderation for the rest of the tournament, while Beni Huggel will remain the TV pundit. Kälin already made his first appearance in Germany on "Nati-Magazin" on Tuesday, and Salzgeber will be on the studio show during the first semi-final next Tuesday and the final (July 14).

Fetscherin back in the studio after riding accident

Presenter Annette Fetscherin is back in the SRF studio. The 41-year-old broke her arm in a riding accident a few days ago and had to undergo surgery. On Tuesday, Fetscherin led through the European Championship program again with a thickly bandaged arm - in a complete women's round with the experts Rachel Rinast and Martina Moser.
