Manchester City will be without Rodri for a long time. The midfielder, who won the European Championship with Spain in Germany in the summer, tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The mishap occurred on Sunday in the Premier League home game against Arsenal (2:2). Rodri played only his second game in the current championship against the London team; he had missed the start of the season due to a thigh injury.
Only last week, Rodri had complained about the excessive strain of football.
