In the National Hockey League, the tough everyday life of the league is slowly catching up with 20-year-old Lian Bichsel. Dallas and Bichsel lose the home game against the New York Rangers 1:3.

For the second game in a row, Lian Bichsel did not have a very good game. Accordingly, he was only used for a good ten minutes - the fewest he had ever played in his first five games. In the second period, when Dallas was already trailing 1-2, he committed a stick foul for which he was sent to the penalty box for two minutes.

Dallas conceded a 1:3 defeat after leading 1:0, primarily because the forwards repeatedly failed to score against the outstanding Russian goalie Igor Schesterkin (41 saves). American Vincent Trocheck led the Rangers to victory with a goal, an assist and a plus-3 rating.

The Dallas Stars have won just 6 of their last 14 games and have dropped from the top of the Western Conference to 7th place. The gap to the teams below the playoff cut-off line is now just one point.
