The 37-year-old Marco Maurer scored Ajoie's first winner after 75 minutes. Lugano had previously tied the game at 3-3 through Luca Fazzini with 47 seconds left in regulation time.
Tim Brennan (2) and Jonathan Hazen had scored for Ajoie in regulation time. The Ajoulots were trailing 0:1 and 2:1, but took the lead for the first time thanks to Brennan's three power-play goals in the 43rd minute.
