The overall winner of Paris-Nice is Matteo Jorgenson for the second time in a row.

The 25-year-old Californian won the eight-day tour with a lead of 1:15 minutes over the German Florian Lipowitz. Third place went to Dutchman Thymen Arensman (1:58 back).

The stage win in the 8th stage, which led over 120 km and four mountain passes, was also won by an American, Magnus Sheffield, 29 seconds ahead of his compatriot Jorgenson.

Mauro Schmid reached the finish in Nice in 25th place, a good four minutes behind. In the overall standings, the 25-year-old from Zurich, who had finished second in the mountain finish in Auron on Saturday, finished in 33rd place.
