An 18-year-old Swiss national has been arrested as the suspected perpetrator following a robbery in an apartment building in Endingen AG. On the night of Sunday, July 21, a masked man forced his way into an apartment at 03:00 and threatened the couple living there with a knife, robbed them and locked them in.

The accused has confessed, as the Aargau public prosecutor's office announced on Monday. After stealing cash and valuables, he took the couple's smartphones and locked them in their bathroom, according to the public prosecutor's office. They then fled the scene.

The husband was able to free himself through the bathroom window and alert the police at around 03:30. The couple remained unharmed and escaped with a scare. The search with several police patrols and the appeal for witnesses were initially unsuccessful.
