Bern No injuries after farmhouse fire in Kerzers FR

A farmhouse caught fire in the village center of Kerzers FR late Thursday afternoon. There were no injuries in the incident. However, the building was destroyed, as reported by the Fribourg cantonal police in the evening.

The firefighters from the Kerzers and Murten bases were on site with a large contingent, according to the press release. A witness had previously informed the Operations and Alarm Center that smoke was rising from the farmhouse.

Together with police patrols, the firefighters deployed "extensive resources" to protect the neighboring buildings from the flames. The farmhouse, however, was completely destroyed.

Oelegasse had to be temporarily closed to traffic for the duration of the operation. The police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
