Fire A Forchbahn carriage caught fire in Zurich

A Forchbahn carriage caught fire in Zurich on Friday evening. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly; no one was injured.

Schutz&Rettung Zurich reported this in a press release. The carriage caught fire at the terminus near Stadelhofen station. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The driver of the train composition reacted in an exemplary manner, according to the press release. He instructed the passengers to get off the train as quickly as possible. Members of the professional fire department then secured the train carriage, which had already been de-energized, and extinguished the fire.

Stadelhoferplatz had to be partially and temporarily cordoned off during the operation. This led to temporary traffic obstructions.
