One person was seriously injured in a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Adligenswil LU on Monday. On the same day, an intoxicated woman was involved in an accident in Eschenbach LU, according to the Lucerne police.

In Adligenswil LU, a car and a motorcycle collided head-on from the side on Monday evening at around 7 p.m. when the driver of the car tried to turn off. The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident, as the police wrote in a statement on Tuesday. He was taken to hospital by the ambulance service. Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be taken away.

Almost at the same time, a female driver in Eschenbach LU drove off the right-hand side of the road and collided with the bend barrier, the police added. The car only came to a standstill in a meadow after more than 130 meters. The driver sustained minor injuries in the accident and was taken to hospital by the emergency services for a check-up.

A breath test revealed a value of 0.85 milligrams per liter. A rapid drug test also showed a positive result.

The 37-year-old woman's driver's license was suspended. She is no longer allowed to drive a motor vehicle until a decision is made by the road traffic authorities.

The oil pan on the car was torn off in the accident. Due to the oil spill, the police say that over 100 meters of soil had to be removed.
