The reason for the line disruption between Olten SO and Aarau on Wednesday morning is a torn down overhead line at Däniken SO station. Regional services are to be gradually resumed from 10 am.

The line was damaged by a cargo train at 03:21, said SBB spokesman Bas Vogler at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. As a result, rail traffic between Olten and Aarau was interrupted for commuter traffic. Numerous long-distance and regional services were affected.
One track was reopened at 7.30 am. The IC-1 trains from St. Gallen to Geneva and the IC-8 trains from Romanshorn to Lausanne then made an extraordinary stop in Olten to partially replace the trains that had been disrupted.
The repair work is in full swing, according to the SBB website. The restrictions are expected to last until 2 pm. But even after that, occasional cancellations and detour are to be expected, said Vogler.
