Russia USA closes embassy in Kiev for fear of air attack

The USA has closed its embassy in Kiev out of concern about a Russian attack. According to a statement, information had been received about a possible significant air attack. Embassy employees were instructed to stay at home. US citizens should go to shelters in case of an alarm.

Russia has been waging a war of aggression against the neighboring country for more than two and a half years and occupies almost a fifth of the country. The US embassy regularly warns of major air strikes, most recently in March and August. However, the closure of the embassy is unusual.
