The "Times of Israel" reported this last night, citing the Israeli prison authorities. Most of the prisoners were women and minors. The majority of the prisoners came from the West Bank, others from East Jerusalem. According to Palestinian reports, some were taken to Ramallah, others to their homes in East Jerusalem.

Videos on social media showed people near Ramallah cheering the arrival of the white buses. According to reports, Israel wanted to prevent celebrations following the release of the Palestinian prisoners.

Earlier that morning, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into force in the Gaza Strip after a delay of almost three hours. It will initially apply for six weeks. During this time, a total of 33 hostages are to be exchanged for 1,904 Palestinian prisoners. The Islamist Hamas released the first three female Israeli hostages in the afternoon.
