According to unconfirmed media reports, five Palestinian journalists have been killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip. As reported by the Arab television station Al-Jazeera, the journalists from the Palestinian broadcaster Al-Quds Today were working near a hospital in the refugee district of Nuseirat in the center of the sealed-off coastal strip when their broadcast van was hit. Israel's army, meanwhile, said it had attacked a vehicle carrying an Islamic Jihad "terrorist cell" in the Nuseirat area.
