Jan Cadieux becomes coach of the U20 national team. The Swiss-Canadian dual national has signed a contract until June 2026.
Until last December, the 44-year-old Cadieux was coach at Genève-Servette HC, which he led to the first championship title in the club's history in 2023. Now he will not only be responsible for developing the next generation of Swiss players, but will also be part of the A-team staff at the upcoming World Championships in Denmark and Sweden, the 2026 Olympic Games and the home World Championships in the same year.
"We are convinced that Jan is the right person to take our U20 national team to the next level," Lars Weibel, Director of Sport at Swiss Ice Hockey, was quoted as saying in the press release. "His many years of experience, his clear line and his human qualities will be a valuable asset to the team."
Marcel Jenni, who was head coach until recently, will remain with the U20s as an assistant.
