The separation of Oliver (46) and Amira Pocher (32) was a dominant topic in the gossip columns last year. In August 2023, they announced the end of their marriage in their podcast. Since then, the conflict between the comedian and the presenter has escalated, with Pocher often overstepping the boundaries of good taste. In doing so, he seemed to forget that they have two young children who are affected by the situation.
A controversial comparison causes a stir
Pocher recently caused a stir with a comment. On the show 'Late Night Switzerland', presenter Stefan Büsser asked whether it was appropriate to speak publicly about the mother of his children in this way. Pocher replied provocatively: "Yes, at a certain point you have to talk about the children's mother like that. It's like this: Putin also has a mother. And Hitler had one too." He defended his stance, but admitted that he would reconsider some of his statements. Shortly afterwards, at the start of his new tour 'The Reckoning of the Year', he appeared thoughtful for the first time.
A differentiated picture of Oliver Pocher
In an interview with cabaret artist Serdar Somuncu, Pocher admitted that he regrets some of his statements. "I would do a lot of it again, but every sentence, every statement I would certainly not make like that again... A few things may have been too strong that I wouldn't do again afterwards." He emphasized the difference between his public persona and his private self: "We communicate with each other normally and act in the interests of our children. I would never say anything stupid about their mother in front of the children. What happens on stage or backstage is a huge difference." Nevertheless, the question remains as to whether his children will one day be confronted with his public statements.
