In Saturday's 2:1 win at the ZSC Lions, Zug played more consistently than they rarely have this season. They initially continued this performance against Biel. They controlled the game in the first period and took a deserved 2-0 lead thanks to defenseman Lukas Bengtsson (8th) and Sven Senteler (13th).

The latter missed a great chance to make it 3-0 in the 22nd minute solo in front of Biel goalie Luis Janett. Two minutes later, after a mistake by EVZ defender Leon Muggli, Biel forward Anthony Greco did better. The American went in alone on Zug keeper Tim Wolf and caught him between the pads.

Although the hosts continued to have more of the play, it took until the 55th minute for Gregory Hofmann to make it 3:1 with his fourth goal in the last seven games. The international striker is getting better and better after injuries. Jan Kovar's 4:1 (58') was a shot into an empty net.

This was the first time the home team had prevailed in the third clash between these two teams in the current championship. Zug had lost four of their previous five home games against Biel. While the EVZ improved from 6th to 5th place in the standings at the expense of Kloten, the Seelanders continue to occupy 10th place.
