Enea Bastianini wins the MotoGP Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna in Misano ahead of world championship leader Jorge Martin. Defending champion Francesco Bagnaia crashes.

Jorge Martin took the lead on the fourth of 27 laps and defended it until the final lap. On this lap, Bastianini attacked with a borderline maneuver, forcing Martin to leave the track to avoid a collision. The Spaniard was correspondingly upset.

It was the second win of the season for the Italian Bastianini. In doing so, he helped his compatriot Francesco Bagnaia, who was in third place and pushed too hard and crashed on the seventh-last lap. Bagnaia had started from pole position and had decided the sprint race in his favor on Saturday. As a result of the crash, the gap to Martin in the world championship standings grew from 4 to 24 points. While the world championship title would be a first for Martin, Bagnaia is aiming for the "hat-trick".

The podium in Misano was completed by six-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez from Spain, who had won the previous two races. The San Marino GP two weeks earlier was also held in Misano. Marc Marquez was displaced by Bastianini in the world championship standings by one point to 4th place, 60 points behind Martin.

22nd place for Dettwiler in Alonso's victory

In the Moto3 class, Noah Dettwiler on a KTM once again missed out on the top 15 by a wide margin, meaning that he remains on the two world championship points he scored in Austin in mid-April. The 19-year-old from Basel, who started the race from 25th on the grid, finished in 22nd place.

World championship leader David Alonso secured victory thanks to a spectacular overtaking maneuver on the last lap. The 18-year-old Colombian celebrated his eighth success in the 14th race of the season ahead of Spaniard Angel Piqueras and Dutchman Collin Veijer. In the overall standings, he is now 82 points ahead of Spaniard Daniel Holgado, who finished fourth in Misano.
