Therese Johaug crowns her return to the World Cup after maternity leave with a prestigious success. The 36-year-old wins the Tour de Ski for the fourth time after 2014, 2016 and 2020.

The Norwegian crossed the finish line in the mass start race on the final stage up to Alpe Cermis with a lead of half a minute. As the overall victory also counts as a World Cup win, she killed two birds with one stone. She now has 87 victories to her name.

The Norwegians celebrated a quadruple victory in the daily classification. Astrid Öyre Slind and last year's winner Jessie Diggins from the USA joined Therese Johaug on the podium for the Tour classification.

Nadine Fähndrich finished the Tour de Ski in 24th place. Her best result thus remains 11th place in 2021. The 29-year-old was already in better form in the distance events. Nevertheless, the Lucerne native can chalk up the Tour de Ski as a success this winter, even though she was the last to arrive on Alpe Cermis. She was convincing in the two sprints, coming first and third.

Anja Weber was the second Swiss woman to finish the Tour in 26th place.
