The Swiss women's national team finishes the Women's Euro Hockey Tour tournament in Tampere in last place without a win. In the 2nd classification game against the Czech Republic, they suffered their 4th defeat with a 3-0 loss.
Just like the day before, when they lost 0:2, the Swiss also fell behind early in their second duel with the Eastern Europeans in the battle for fifth place. Adela Sapovalivova opened the scoring in the 16th minute. The Swiss were unable to find an answer in their fourth match in four days.
For coach Colin Muller's team, it was the third game in a row without scoring a goal at this tournament after the 2:6 opening defeat against the USA. The absences of North American mercenary Alina Müller and captain Lara Stalder weighed heavily, especially in offense.
The result after the first three tournaments of the newly created Women's Euro Hockey Tour is sobering from a Swiss perspective. In ten games, a goal difference of 7:30 resulted in a single victory (2:1 n.p. in August in the home tournament against the Czech Republic).
The Swiss women continue with the international tournament in the Czech Republic at the beginning of February, before the World Cup takes place there in April.
