The Swiss women's handball team will face Slovakia on their way to the 2025 World Championships, making them a feasible opponent. This is the result of the draw at the European Championships in Vienna.
The Swiss women were drawn from Pot 1 after advancing to the main round for the first time. The Slovakians finished the European Championship in 24th and last place after three clear defeats in the preliminary round. Unlike Switzerland, however, the Eastern Europeans have already taken part in a World Cup (twice), most recently three years ago.
The last eleven World Cup tickets for European participants will be determined in first and second legs on April 9/10 and 12/13. The next Women's World Cup will take place in Germany and the Netherlands from November 27 to December 14, 2025.
