In Friday's four games in the National League, there were two home and two away wins. The facts.
After seven defeats in their previous nine games, Bern got off to the best possible start in their home game against Lausanne, celebrating a resounding 7-2 victory. Simon Moser put the hosts ahead in the 3rd minute with the first shot on goal, and he doubled the lead four minutes later. It was the 35-year-old's 23rd brace in the top division. Although the LHC reduced the deficit to 1:2 in the 10th minute thanks to Aurélien Marti, the SCB went on a gala run in the final two periods. American Austin Czarnik scored the 4:1 (33') and 7:1 (51') goals and also notched up an assist. Bern celebrated their third home win in a row against Lausanne, who had won four of their previous five games.
Davos in impressive form
Davos are currently in top form. The Grisons won 3-0 at the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers for the second time in a row, meaning they have won their last four games with a goal difference of 17-2 in their favor. The ultimately decisive 1-0 goal was scored by the Swede Simon Ryfors after 48 seconds in the middle third. Matej Stransky then scored twice in the final six minutes, the second time with a shot into the empty net. The Czech now has eight goals for the season, five of which he has scored in the last four games. Davos keeper Luca Hollenstein recorded his second shutout in his last three outings thanks to 23 saves. The Lakers suffered their first defeat of the season in front of their home crowd after 60 minutes. They lost to HCD for the twelfth time in the last 14 head-to-head meetings.
Servette ends losing streak
Genève-Servette managed their first win after four defeats. Finland's Teemu Hartikainen played a big part in the 3-1 win in Lugano, scoring an assist on all three goals scored by the visitors. The third Geneva goal was scored by 21-year-old defenseman Gianluca Chanton, who scored for the first time ever in Switzerland's top league. Being called up for the national team for the first time seems to have spurred him on. Lugano, meanwhile, suffered their third home defeat in a row after winning all of their first five games of the season in front of their home crowd.
Hofer shoots Biel into luck
Biel had started the season with little credit, which makes the Seelanders' performances so far all the more astonishing. With the 2:1 overtime win against Ambri-Piotta, they celebrated their seventh victory in the last nine games. Both goals in regulation time were powerplay goals. Dario Bürgler put the visitors ahead in the 18th minute, Toni Rajala was responsible for the 1:1 (29th). Fabio Hofer did the groundwork for the equalizer, scoring 56 seconds before the end of overtime to make it 2:1. The first season duel between the two teams had already ended 2:1 after overtime, then in favor of Ambri, which has now lost six of its last seven games.
