Sina Frei uses her impressive late-season form to claim another victory. The 27-year-old mountain bike specialist takes the title at the European Gravel Championships in Asiago, Italy.
Frei won by one and a half minutes ahead of the Italians Silvia Perisco and Alice Maria Arzuffi and added another precious metal to her gravel medal collection after silver at the 2022 World Championships. The rider from Zurich thus rounded off an unfavorable start to the season with six podium finishes in the last six races.
In the gravel discipline, which is particularly popular in the USA, the athletes mostly ride on unpaved roads, hard gravel and cobblestones. Any type of bike is allowed except e-bikes.
