The 27-year-old impressed at the nomination competition in Minneapolis, scoring 117.225 points in two all-around competitions and winning by a large margin. Three years after Biles dropped out of the all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympics due to mental overload, she is now returning to the big stage of her sport in France. Biles was Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The four-time Olympic champion and 23-time world champion is also the big favorite for Paris.

Olympic champion Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and 16-year-old Hezly Rivera have also made the five-strong team. Only Biles had secured her qualification by winning, the four other gymnasts were nominated by a committee.
