SC Bern put in an impressive performance and defeated EV Zug by a clear 6:1. The Bernese team made a strong statement in the very first minutes of the game.
SC Bern defeated EV Zug 6:1 in an impressive game. The Bernese scored three goals in the first four and a half minutes, laying the foundation for their success. Tristan Scherwey, Marco Lehmann and Anton Lindholm scored early and gave Zug goalkeeper Tim Wolf no chance.
A debut and a lack of support
After the early deficit, Santo Simmchen made his debut in the National League, as Zug's regular goalie Leonardo Genoni was missing. Despite the change in goal, Zug was unable to make up the deficit. Bern scored a total of six goals by six different players, which meant the highest away win of the season for the SCB. This performance was also a small revenge for the elimination in the playoff quarter-final against Zug.
An evening to forget for Zug
It was a disappointing evening for EV Zug. Seven of their players had previously been in action at the Karjala Cup in Finland, which proved to be an additional burden. In addition, Daniel Vozenilek's impressive streak of scoring at least one goal in eleven consecutive games came to an end.
Bern in top form
SC Bern, on the other hand, were able to celebrate their third win in a row and were in top form. The team was united and efficient, which was reflected in its clear superiority on the ice.
