The Nashville Predators stop their latest losing streak in the NHL. The 3-0 win at the Vancouver Canucks is the first victory after three games lost.
The Predators with captain Roman Josi and the Canucks with Pius Suter met for the second time this season - and for the second time, the team from Nashville came out on top. In mid-November, the Predators had also won 5:3 away from home. Josi scored and assisted on that goal.
This time, Josi provided the assist on the last goal, which Canadian Colton Sissons scored into the empty net 31 seconds before the final buzzer. Sissons' compatriot Steven Stamkos, who joined the Predators for this championship after 16 seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning, scored in the second period to make it 1-0. 73 seconds before Sissons, the Swede Gustav Nyquist had also scored into the empty net to make it 2-0.
Despite the win, the Predators are still in the lower reaches of the standings. Only the San Jose Sharks and the Chicago Blackhawks have scored fewer points so far this season. The team from Illinois, who were without Philipp Kurashev from Bern, recorded their first win after five defeats with a 4-2 victory against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
