The rider from Zurich, who will be competing in the World Cup jumping competition on Sunday to qualify for the final at the beginning of April in front of a home crowd, won the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois Prize on Thursday in the saddle of L&L Upgrade.
Fuchs remained clear in the main competition of the day, as did 19 other participants, and in 55.51 seconds was almost nine tenths faster than the second-placed German Hans-Dieter Dreher.
The World Cup final for the best 18 riders will also take place in Basel this year. Fuchs must score well on Sunday to improve his chances of qualifying again.
