HC Davos consolidates its place at the top of the National League and stops the winning streak of its favorite opponent Genève-Servette with a 2:1 away win after overtime.

A penalty against Vincent Praplan in the final period of regulation time had just expired when Matej Stransky scored after 51 seconds of overtime to give HC Davos a 2-1 victory in Geneva. Servette, which had started the season poorly but was getting stronger and stronger, lost for the first time in four games, three of which it had won in overtime.

In a largely uneventful game, the two defensively strong teams neutralized each other for long stretches. Geneva, who took a big step towards the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday (4:0 against Bremerhaven), benefited for a long time from Sakkari Manninen's early lead in overtime (11th). It was only at the start of the final period that Manninen's counterpart in the top scorer's shirt, Adam Tambellini, scored the deserved equalizer - also shortly after a penalty had expired.

Servette is Davos' absolute favorite opponent. Since February 2022, there has always been at least one point against Geneva and now nine wins in eleven games. The HCD also confirmed itself as the best away team in the league.

It extended its lead over the ZSC Lions to three points - albeit with three more games to play.
