Lausanne HC celebrates a prestigious victory in the National League. The Vaud team won the Léman derby at Servette 3:2.
Although Geneva made up for the early 2-0 deficit within just over two minutes in the middle third, the visitors from Lausanne took the lead again before the second break. Finland's Lauri Pajuniemi scored the 3:2, which somewhat surprisingly lasted until the end.
Lausanne deserved the win and rarely really came under threat in the final third. They thus consolidated their 2nd place and perhaps also gained a valuable mental advantage. The two teams from Lake Geneva will meet again in the round of 16 of the Champions Hockey League in a first and second leg.
