The Swiss defenseman was responsible for the first and last goals of the game. In the 10th minute, Josi scored with a hard shot from the blue line, in the 59th minute he tried it two meters in front of his own goal and saw the puck hit the empty net. In the meantime, Winnipeg's Adam Lowry tied the game at 1-1 on a pass from Niederreiter. For Nashville, who had previously only won three out of twelve games, the home win against one of the best NHL teams at the moment was a relief.

The Swiss Devils trio also celebrated an important victory in the divisional duel with the Washington Capitals. After trailing 1-0, the visitors from New Jersey turned the game around with three goals in a row, with Nico Hischier earning an assist on the third goal. After scoring again, the Devils managed to hold on to their 3:2 lead. Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler thus took the lead at the top of the table.

Kevin Fiala and Pius Suter also celebrated. Fiala, who contributed an assist, won 2:1 with the Los Angeles Kings against the Seattle Kraken and the Vancouver Canucks with Suter defeated the Ottawa Senators 4:3 away from home.

Janis Moser suffered a defeat with the Tampa Bay Lightning, losing 4-2 to the Dallas Stars. The Chicago Blackhawks also lost at the Philadelphia Flyers (2:3 after overtime), although Philipp Kurashev, who had been ruled out due to insufficient performances, was not in the squad, as he had been in the previous game.
