Johannes Hösflot Klaebo is in all likelihood already the winner of the Tour de Ski before the finale with the climb to Alpe Cermis. The Norwegian has a reserve of 2:18 minutes.
In Saturday's skiathlon in Cavalese, there was no vehement attack from the competition. Klaebo was in control at all times and had no trouble in the final lap to wrap up his 91st World Cup victory.
The big loser of the day was Edvin Anger. The Swede lost 1:42 minutes and dropped from 2nd to 10th place in the overall classification. The giant is likely to lose further ground on Sunday's climb. However, the battle for second and third place behind Klaebo will be exciting. Seven athletes are classified within 50 seconds of each other.
Beda Klee, who finished a strong fifth in the final classification last year, is looking forward to the end of the Tour de Ski. After falling ill in the run-up to the race, he didn't really get going in this stage race and also lost a lot of time on Saturday in 29th place. Over the next few weeks, the skier from eastern Switzerland wants to build up his form again with a training block.
