The Winnipeg Jets with Nino Niederreiter overcome a minor slump. After two defeats, the Canadiens win 6:3 against the Florida Panthers and consolidate their leading position in the NHL.

Niederreiter, however, continues to go through a slump as a scorer. For the sixth time in a row, he was neither a scorer nor a passer. With five goals and seven assists after 19 games, the Grisons native remains No. 4 on the Swiss scoring list.

Janis Moser, on the other hand, took center stage. The Biel native was on the ice for the Tampa Bay Lightning's 3-2 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Instead of shooting, he fed the Canadian Brayden Point at the near corner of the goal, who completed the turnaround with his second goal. Tampa Bay had been trailing 0:2 and only turned up the heat in the final period.

Pius Suter was also credited with a scoring point as a passer. The Zurich native of the Vancouver Canucks was involved in the 3:3 equalizer against the New York Rangers. The visitors from the USA ultimately prevailed 4:3. Philipp Kurashev also came off the ice a loser. He suffered his third defeat in a row with the Chicago Blackhawks in their 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks and his team remains at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. None of the 32 NHL teams currently has fewer points than the Blackhawks.
