VfB Stuttgart suffered a severe setback in the top flight, losing 5-1 away to Red Star Belgrade, who are still without points.
After former St.Gallen player Ermedin Demirovic gave the Germans an early lead, not much went right for VfB. The Serbs turned up the heat and turned the game around, winning clearly and deservedly 5:1 in the end.
The equalizer was scored by Silas, a striker on loan from Stuttgart, and the last two goals were scored by substitute Nemanja Radonjic. The Swiss, Fabian Rieder and Leonidas Stergiou, made partial appearances for VfB after the break.
With four points from five games, Stuttgart are in danger of not reaching the knockout phase and urgently need points in their next games. For Red Star, it is the first three points in this Champions League season.
Sturm Graz also picked up their first points. The Austrians beat Girona 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from Denmark's Mika Biereth, who leads the scoring charts in Austria. This means that only YB, Leipzig and Slovan Bratislava are still without points in the Champions League.
