FC Lugano concedes its first points of the season. Thibault Klidje turns 1:2 into 3:2 for Luzern.
When Thibault Klidje was substituted in the 70th minute, there were no signs of a Lucerne victory. The spectators at the Cornaredo wondered when the Bianconeri would score the overdue third goal. There were plenty of chances.
Klidje, who had saved a point against Grasshoppers two weeks ago with a late goal, turned the game on its head and punished the Ticino team, which had been shuffled in nine positions compared to Thursday's European Cup, for their lack of efficiency. First, the Togo striker deflected a clever pass from Nicky Beloko into the net to make it 2:2 (75'). Less than a quarter of an hour later, he headed in the winner from a corner kick by Aleksandar Stankovic, who had also come on as a substitute.
FC Lugano will be annoyed about the two goals they conceded after the break. They were well on course after the first half: Hicham Mahou made it 1-0 after less than three minutes and Shkelqim Vladi made up for goalkeeper Amir Saipi's mistake shortly before the break to make it 2-1. The latter had allowed Pius Dorn to make it 1:1 with a poor clearance (12').
