The Los Angeles Kings celebrate their sixth win in a row with a 3:1 victory against the New York Islanders. Kevin Fiala scores his tenth goal of the season.

It was a beautiful individual move by Fiala that made it 2-0 at the interval. The 28-year-old from St. Gallen received the puck at the blue line, let his opponent run into space and took a wrist shot. Thanks in part to him, the Kings got their "on-the-road" series off to the best possible start after three recent home wins. The Californians will play six more away games between now and December 22, the next one at the New Jersey Devils.

They suffered their second defeat in a row at home. Against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team with the Swiss trio of Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler lost 1:2 after overtime. Former ZSC player Auston Matthews escaped after a blocked shot and was celebrated as the game-winner. The Swiss, who played together on the second line, were not involved in the Devils' only goal.

Nino Niederreiter and the Winnipeg Jets scored an 8-1 victory. The 32-year-old Grisons native provided the assist on the first goal of the game, after which it was mainly the players from the first line who shone. In total, seven different players were responsible for the home team's eight goals, with only Canadian Mark Scheifele scoring twice.

Swiss defensemen Janis Moser and Roman Josi suffered defeats. The Tampa Bay Lightning lost 1:2 to the Edmonton Oilers, while the Nashville Predators lost 3:4 to the Calgary Flames after leading three times. Particularly bitter: Josi injured himself after just over five and a half minutes of ice time and was ruled out with a "lower body injury".
