The New Jersey Devils with the Swiss trio of Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler have made a successful start to the NHL season. They won 4:1 against the Buffalo Sabres in Prague.

Both captain Hischier and Siegenthaler got on the scoresheet. The former scored the 3:0 in the 24th minute, Siegenthaler provided the groundwork for the 2:0 from new signing and fellow defenseman Johnny Kovacevic (16th), who also had a hand in the 1:0 from Stefan Noesen (9th), another new signing. The Devils' new Swedish goalie Jacob Markström saved 30 of 31 shots.

These two teams will meet for the second time on Saturday at the Arena in Prague. In North America, the NHL season starts next Tuesday local time.
