In the 13th game of the season, HC Fribourg-Gottéron may not get out of second-last place, but at least they get their fourth win of the season. These are the facts of Saturday's full round.

The results from Saturday evening

  • ZSC Lions - Zug 5:4 (1:1, 2:1, 2:2)
  • Biel - Davos 2:1 (0:1, 0:0, 2:0)
  • SCL Tigers - Kloten 0:2 (0:1, 0:0, 0:1)
  • Fribourg-Gottéron - Lugano 4:0 (1:0, 1:0, 2:0)
  • Rapperswil-Jona Lakers - Bern 2:1 (0:1, 2:0, 0:0)
  • Ajoie - Genève-Servette 3:6 (1:2, 1:0, 1:4)
  • Lausanne - Ambri-Piotta 5:4 (1:1, 1:1, 3:2)

Like the day before in Zug, Fribourg got off to a lightning start against HC Lugano. Chris DiDomenico scored the opening goal after just 66 seconds. This time, Gottéron did not relinquish the lead. In the end, the Fribourg team prevailed 4:0. For Lugano, goalie Niklas Schlegel suffered his second defeat since his comeback after the 2-1 loss in Ambri despite only conceding two goals (and two goals into the empty net at the end). Before his injury, Schlegel had won all of his first three games.

Never trailing

The ZSC Lions never trailed in their 5-4 win over EV Zug. The EVZ equalized four times, but in the end the Central Swiss were left empty-handed. Things got exciting for the first time in the middle third, when 33 penalty minutes were handed out within three minutes and two goals were scored. Five more goals were scored in the final period - from 2:2 to 5:4. Only Willy Riedi's 5:4 in the 55th minute prevented Zug from countering.

Biel wins top game

Biel beat Davos 2-1 in a duel between two teams with strong form. Davos, who had won four of their last five and six of their last eight games, got off to the better start and took the lead after just 87 seconds with a power-play goal from Tino Kessler. Biel only turned up the heat in the final period: Yannick Stampfli equalized (45th), and in the 58th minute Fabio Hofer scored the 2:1 winning goal for Biel in overtime. EHC Biel celebrated its fourth win in a row.

No goal again

Despite 40:14 shots on goal, the SCL Tigers suffered a bitter 2-0 home defeat against Kloten. Dario Meyer, who had already scored against the ZSC Lions on Friday, put Kloten ahead after just four minutes. Niko Ojamäki scored into the empty net with four seconds left. Langnau, who had won all of their first five home games, failed to score at home for the second time in a row after losing 1-0 to Lausanne a week ago.

Curious goal to turn the game around

The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers defeated SC Bern 2:1 thanks to a strong second period. Within four minutes, the Lakers turned the game around from 0:1 to 2:1. Gian-Marco Wetter's 1:1 equalizer was particularly curious. He initiated the turnaround with a lob - an arc lamp over a defender and goalie Philip Wüthrich. Bern lost three of their last four games.

Late turnaround

On Friday, Servette won 5-3 against the Lakers on their return to Les Vernets thanks to four goals in the final period. 24 hours later, Geneva scored four goals again in the final period. Ajoie led 3-2 until the 51st minute thanks to a penalty goal by Jerry Turkulainen. Then Teemu Hartikainen and Tim Berni scored a hat-trick to turn the game around from 2-3 to 6-3. Ajoie has already lost five games in a row since the 5-2 win over Kloten.

It was close at the end

Lausanne trailed 0:1 and 1:2 against Ambri before taking a seemingly decisive 5:2 lead by the 52nd minute. Théo Rochette (2) and Damien Riat (1) turned a 2:2 into a 5:2 between the 42nd and 46th minute, but Lausanne still trembled in the end in front of 9,000 spectators, as Ambri managed to close the gap to 4:5 in the final period. The Leventines were not able to do more: after two 3:4 defeats, Ambri lost for the third time in a row with a one-goal difference.
