The Swiss League ice hockey championship is back on the verge of excitement at the top. Basel dropped four points in the last two rounds, allowing La Chaux-de-Fonds to catch up again.

On Thursday, Basel won 3:2 after overtime in Thurgau for the 14th time in a row. Basel's winning streak came to an end on Saturday at home against Olten. Despite leading four times, EHC Basel lost 4-5 to Olten in front of 3,657 spectators. Guillaume Asselin and a powerplay goal by Dominic Weder turned the game around for Olten in the final period.

La Chaux-de-Fonds prevailed 3:1 in Bellinzona. The team from the Neuchâtel Jura is now just three points behind Basel. These two teams have already been confirmed as play-off contenders in the Swiss League as of this week.
