In difficult conditions, Gasparin, who started the race with the unfavorable bib number 54, missed an even better result with three misses. Only one athlete - Norway's Ida Lien, who was ranked three places higher - was faster without a better score.

Aita Gasparin's sister Elisa and Amy Baserga finished in 20th and 28th place with two misses each. Lena Häcki-Gross, who missed out on a World Championship medal in the pursuit at the last shooting in February, had to settle for 38th place.

France's Julia Simon took the victory ahead of Sweden's Hanna Öberg. Germany's Franziska Preuss, who also did not miss a shot, extended her lead in the overall World Cup to 60 points ahead of Lou Jeanmonnot (7th).
