The Swiss athlete celebrated her second World Cup podium in the monobob. She had already finished second last season in La Plagne. This time, she was nine hundredths off the podium.

Debora Annen rounded off the great Swiss result. The junior world champion achieved a best result in her debut season with 4th place.

Melanie Hasler started the second run with a handicap of just three hundredths on Lisa Buckwitz. The German, who always achieves excellent start times, made the most of this advantage. In the second run, she took eleven hundredths from the Swiss skier as she pushed on. Then the lead only melted slightly by the finish.

Debora Annen set a track record in the second run in 58.46 seconds, overtaking world champion Laura Nolte. The track record was then beaten by the top 3 in the final classification. Lisa Buckwitz ultimately lowered the record to 58.25.

Monobob is an Olympic discipline for women. The next World Championships are scheduled for March in Lake Placid.
