A senior citizen drove his car into the oncoming lane on Staffeleggstrasse in Densbüren AG on Thursday and collided with two oncoming vehicles. Two people were injured in the accident and all three vehicles were totaled, according to the Aargau cantonal police on Friday.

The 74-year-old was driving uphill towards Aarau at around 5 p.m. when he left the road on a right-hand bend for unknown reasons. After two collisions with correctly oncoming cars, the senior's vehicle finally came to a halt under a tree to the left of the road in the meadowland.

According to the cantonal police, the road remained closed until shortly before 8 p.m. for recovery work and forensics. The person responsible for the accident had to temporarily surrender his driver's license.
