Criminal investigation Ticino State Councillor Gobbi takes over management of the police again

Ticino State Councillor Norman Gobbi is once again assuming political responsibility for the Ticino cantonal police force. Due to a criminal investigation in connection with a traffic accident involving Gobbi, he had temporarily handed over the leadership of the police force.

Following the conclusion of the criminal investigation and inspection of the files, the cantonal government decided to hand back the management of the cantonal police to Norman Gobbi, the government announced on Wednesday.

At the end of March, following the opening of a criminal investigation into a traffic accident, the Lega State Councillor transferred responsibility for the cantonal police to his deputy Claudio Zali.

A few weeks later, the Ticino public prosecutor's office announced that Gobbi had been heard and that no criminal evidence had been found against him.
